We were very careful in our LED chip selection as you want the lights in this location to be brighter, but not too bright to where they become a hindrance to your eyes. The CREE XPG-2 chips are perfect for providing a significantly brighter and purer light but one that is still comfortable to your eye. CREE CRI (color rendering index) is unmatched and this means the light is more accurate and usable to the human eye than another light source of the same brightness.
Our LUX reading texts indicated a massive change in light output one inch away from the units emission points. The factory light/housing was reading approx. 3500 LUX, whereas the new Dual CREE XPG units were measuring over 2x brighter than factory lights! That large delta is due in part to how woefully inadequate the factory units are (super dark & dingy) and also how wonderfully the CREE XPG chip set performs. The new level of output is not 'too bright' or 'overpowering', but is the perfect amount of light to make accessing, using & showing off your 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 Ford F150 Raptor interior space much more pleasant & safe.
The downcast ambient lighting has also been upgraded to give you more usable lighting than the factory lights even when the primary map lights are turned off!
