Well got the bed lights but they were to small for my long bed. In the process of getting a set made for my long bed. So far working with F150 LEDs have been easy and they are willing to work with me solve my situation.
The lights were easy to install. The silicon did not work very well. Even though surface was cleaned properly. The adhesive on back of the lights could be better. But lights r bright and get the job done
Still a few wires to hide and Silicone to apply, but the bulk of the work is done and the bed is Lit Up! This was install likely went way longer than the video for 3 reasons: 1. 8 foot bed 2. Have a cover already installed 3. I decided to put aluminum HVAC tape under the rails to maximize light reflection (after reading some of the reviews for darker beds) Removing clamps, taping, sticking in the lights and reclamping took a large part of the time, and that’s on me. But I think the result is worth it. The other issue I had was wires not reaching, perhaps due to the 8 foot bed, so I had to get creative. After bringing the driver’s wire across, red wire in one of the photos, I tied in the passenger side at the bed rail. The driver’s wire then was long enough to follow the drain for my cover through the front bulkhead and reach just below the bed floor. There, I spliced on the piece I cut off when connecting the two sides and that just reached to the rear passenger door wire bundle. Also, I had to drill a hole for access farther back because of the power steps. I knew which wire I wanted as I had already done the sill plates.
The lights are great, they light up the bed as advertised. Figuring out what wires to connect to was a challenge but i figured it out with a volt meater, the wires on my model truck were very small 20 gage wire.
We race dirt bikes and always have to inlaid our bed in the dark. This lighting is awesome. Easy to install with excellent directions.
