Hey guys, it's Nick from F150LEDs.com. Today in this video, Adam is going to be showing us how easy it is to swap out your dim dingy cargo lights here on a '98 to '03 Ford F-150 for some awesome looking, extremely bright LEDs from F150LEDs.com. These things look awesome, they're going to light up your entire cargo bed here at night and make it much more functional for you, and they're easy to install. So Adam's going to show us how it's done right now.
All right guys, so the first thing that we need to do to go ahead and start our install is we are going to make sure these lights are powered down. You don't want to be installing or uninstalling these bulbs with power to it. So we went ahead and made sure we don't have any power right now.
The next step is we're going to take a Philips-head screwdriver. There's two screws located on both sides of your cargo light housing. What we're going to do is just go ahead and loosen up these screws and you'll just feel them when they come all the way out of those backs. They shouldn't pull out of the housing, but once they're loose enough, your housing will just pop right off, exposing all three bulbs, your third brake light, and both of your cargo bulbs. The install for all three bulbs is the exact same, so we're just going to show you how to do the cargo bulb on this outside.
You want to take your hand and just twist it counter-clockwise and the bulb will pull right out. We already have our MKII cargo light installed, but we just want to go ahead and show you how to uninstall it and then reinstall it. So if you have a OEM bulb or some other style bulb right here, just want to take it and pull straight away from your housing. It'll slide right out.
And then you'll take your new MKII cargo light bulb and then slide it right into place. If you slide it into place, go to test the kit, and you're not receiving any power, don't worry. These lights are polar sensitive. So you're going to want to just pull your bulb right back out, rotate it 180 degrees, slide it back into place, and your bulb should light right up.
So now that we've done that, we're just going to insert our bulb back into place, twist it to lock our tabs in, and then put our cargo light housing right back in. All we need to do is tighten up these Phillips-head screws back in to place. And that's it, guys. That's all there is to installing our MKII cargo light bulbs on this '97 to '03 F-150.
Thanks, Adam for showing us how easy it is to swap out those OEM dingy, dull cargo lights with some hyper white, hyper bright LEDs from F150LEDs.com. These things look fantastic and they're going to make your bed much more functional because you're going to be able to see the entire thing at night.
